Tattooing was always a huge passion for Josh Crotty. Ever since he was suspended from elementary school for playing "tattoo shop" and drawing on all his classmates. It was always a goal for him to take his passion and make it his profession. Josh has over 15 years in the industry, including a traditional 3 year apprenticeship. Dedicating his career to learning as much as he can. Taking that knowledge to help inform, and guide clients to a personal tattoo that will age well over time.

Spending his early years in a "street shop," he tattooed the majority of anything that came through the door. Transitioning to a more privatized approach gave him the ability to be more personable, accommodating, and specialized to client requests. All while traveling around the country and internationally doing guest spots, conventions, and learning from other great artists outside of Duluth. Culminating all of this is what has made Josh the versatile artist he is today.

Being comfortable and confident with the majority of styles, his range includes: bold American traditional, Neo-Traditional, Japanese Inspired, Norse inspired, Ornamental, and Henna inspired, soft fine line Photo-realism, Floral, Animal Portraits, Landscape, and Galaxy styles. Choosing to strictly work on custom pieces he prefers to take on projects with meaning or a story behind the imagery. That's not to say that Josh doesn't enjoy designing things just because it simply looks cool or is an interesting idea.

To work with Josh, it is typical to book your project 2-3 months in advance. Keep up to date with his scheduling and when his books are open or closed by following his Instagram @joshcrottytattoo or getting in touch with his personally at Crottykidtattoo@hotmail.com
